Events at the cultural venue "Hanzas Perons" this spring

The cultural venue "Hanzas Perons" continues to delight with interesting concerts and other events, so we invite you to take a look at the offered program and choose the event that interests you.

On March 24, the legendary jazz group "Bohren & Der Club of Gore" will perform at "Hanzas Perons". Over time, this famous band has actually defined the genre of "doom jazz".

On March 28, International Piano Day is celebrated. Since 2015, people around the world have begun to honour this instrument and the music created for it. Celebrating the 88th day of the year (referring to the 88 keys of the piano) has become a tradition, and this year the celebration will take place at "Hanzas Perons".

On April 12, the instrumental rock collective "Godspeed You! Black Emperor" from Montreal, Canada, will perform at "Hanzas Perons". From 1997 to 2002, the group released several albums that not only earned recognition from a wide audience, but also changed the perception of what protest music and punk rock are.

On April 13, Ben Frost, an electronic musician and sound researcher of Australian origin from Iceland, will perform at "Hanzas Perons". His unique style in compositions and sound design is already well known to audiences from his previous tours to Latvia.

On April 21, Canadian saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Colin Stetson will give a solo concert at "Hanzas Perons". Despite captivating many listeners primarily with his compelling and sometimes forceful playing on the bass and alto saxophones, he also has soprano, tenor, and baritone instruments in his arsenal.

On May 9, for the first time in Latvia as part of the concert evening "Duet Behavior", one of the most significant and influential contemporary artists Meredith Monk and drummer John Hollenbeck will perform.

On May 14, the noisy avant-garde rock quartet "Deerhoof" from the United States of America will perform for the first time in Riga at "Hanzas Perons". Founded almost thirty years ago by drummer Greg Saunier, "Deerhoof" is considered one of the most influential independent rock groups in modern history.
